If i sign a petition for a kid who got expelled for getting in a fight could i be in trouble for signing it?

    That would seem highly unlikely but a school is not going to pay attention to a petition.

    No, you can't get in trouble for signing a legally meaningless petition. Because the petition has ZERO legal meaning, you don't even have to be 'eligible' to sign it.

    in trouble for having an opinion??? i don't see how.

    people who disagree with the petition may see you differently, but there's no law against signing your name that i'm aware of...

    You can be questioned about your knowledge of the fight.

    If the kid is readmitted and there's another incident, you could be questioned.

    Is it worth it?

    Not if it was done in a respectful manner towards the school's staff. 

    Try using more capital letters where they are needed. 

    Using correct english is a plus in dealing with a bureaucracy
