Is Russian out of international hockey for four years?

Update:

I don't see how a team under a neutral flag works because the IIHF seed for Russia is for Russia.

So it would seem and they should have thought about that before cheating ..

  • They're still eligible to participate in the WJC (World Junior) and World Championships as they're not considered "major" events by WADA. There's no World Cup of hockey in 2021 (wouldn't matter since the NHL runs it), so their only impacted tournament would be the 2022 Winter Olympics (pending appeals and reductions). They're currently ineligible for the FIFA soccer world cup in 2022 but they will still play (and host games) in the 2020 European soccer/football championships (but not participate in the 2020 Summer Olympics).

If that is your understanding then the explanation is easy.  The Olympic Athletes From Russia (OAR) ARE the current (2018) Gold medal winners and therefore would be seeded as such as usual as things go forward from here for the next 4 years.

Apparently...and the Olympics. Russians are cheaters at birth. It's in their cultural ethos. The Tsars, the Soviets, and now Putin are all cheaters and worse. The Russian people have never had an honest government almost from the beginning with their Rasputin et al.
