What does a JW have to do to become member of the GB or leader of a Kingdom Hall?

There should not be any leaders at our kindom halls. Just had to get that out of the way.

To be an elder, a brother must first become a ministerial servant and to acheive that, they must follow the outline stated in the bible.

To be a part of the governing body. A brother must be currently anointed ie have the heavenly hope. Must be exemplary out in the field preaching and be on the teaching committee ( not stated, but that seems to be how it is done).

Jesus said that his followers would be two groups which would merge together as one while living on earth. He has "a little flock and the other sheep." --Luke 12:32 and John 10:16-- The "little flock" have the hope of being in heaven as priests and co-rulers with Jesus Christ who is the King of God's Kingdom and number 144,000.--Revelation 1:6; Revelation 20:6; Revelation 7:4 and 14:1-3--These have accurate knowledge concerning God's message in the Bible to humankind. Jesus also called them "a faithful and discreet slave" who would be dispensing our spiritual "food at the proper time."--Matthew 24:45-- Because of the apostasy that came, most do not have accurate knowledge of the Scriptures nor have they "come to know the only true God and Jesus Christ."--John 17:3-- I invite you to learn what the Bible teaches from the international website, jw.org and Bible Teachings > Online Lessons. Thank you for this question.

Climb the corrupt corporate ladder and claim to be the chosen ones.

"That faithful slave (governing body) is the channel through which Jesus is feeding his true followers in this time of the end. It is vital that we recognize the faithful slave. Our spiritual health and our relationship with God depend on this channel." Watchtower 2013 Jul 15 p.20

"“The faithful and discreet slave”(governing body) was appointed over Jesus’ domestics in 1919. That slave is the small, composite group of anointed brothers serving at world headquarters during Christ’s presence who are directly involved in preparing and dispensing spiritual food. When this group work together as the Governing Body, they act as “the faithful and discreet slave.”" jw.org 10th Nov 2012

    Here's a good one.

"Since Jehovah God and Jesus Christ completely trust the faithful and discreet slave (governing body), should we not do the same?" Watchtower 2009 Feb 15 p.27

"[A mature christian] does not advocate or insist on personal opinions or harbor private ideas when it comes to Bible understanding. Rather, he has complete confidence in the truth as it is revealed by Jehovah God through his Son, Jesus Christ, and "the faithful and discreet slave" (governing body). Watchtower 2001 Aug 1 p.14

"... show respect for the “faithful and discreet slave” (governing body) that He is using at the present time. Actually, your very life depends on following this course of action. Remember, too, it is only he that endures to the end that will be saved." Watchtower 1964 Jul 15 p.435

"To act consistently with our baptism for life and into the Greater Noah we must submit to and cooperate with that slave and its legal instrument, the Watch Tower Society." Watchtower 1959 Oct 1 p.583

Oh, but they don't follow man. lol

There is only one leader, our king Jesus Christ.

Your Leader Is One, the Christ

    https://wol.jw.org/en/wol/d/r1/lp-e/2010685

"CHRISTENDOM’S churches have human leaders, such as the pope of Rome, the patriarchs and metropolitans of the Eastern Orthodox churches, and the heads of other religions. Jehovah’s Witnesses recognize no human as their leader. They are not disciples or followers of any man. This is in line with Jehovah’s prophetic utterance concerning his Son: “Look! As a witness to the national groups I have given him, as a leader and commander to the national groups.” (Isa. 55:4) The international congregation of anointed Christians and their “other sheep” companions want no leader other than the one Jehovah has given them. (John 10:16) They subscribe to Jesus’ statement: “Your Leader is one, the Christ.”—Matt. 23:10."

Jehovah's Witnesses have one leader. That leader is Jesus Christ. The Bible was given to us as a means of communicating that direction. Public opinion will never override the direction that the Bible gives us.

The qualifications of an elder are outlined in the Bible.

(1 Timothy 3:1-7) This statement is trustworthy: If a man is reaching out to be an overseer, he is desirous of a fine work. 2 The overseer should therefore be irreprehensible, a husband of one wife, moderate in habits, sound in mind, orderly, hospitable, qualified to teach, 3 not a drunkard, not violent, but reasonable, not quarrelsome, not a lover of money, 4 a man presiding over his own household in a fine manner, having his children in subjection with all seriousness 5 (for if any man does not know how to preside over his own household, how will he care for the congregation of God?), 6 not a newly converted man, for fear that he might get puffed up with pride and fall into the judgment passed on the Devil. 7 Moreover, he should also have a fine testimony from outsiders so that he does not fall into reproach and a snare of the Devil.

(Titus 1:5-9) I left you in Crete so that you would correct the things that were defective and make appointments of elders in city after city, as I instructed you: 6 if there is any man free from accusation, a husband of one wife, having believing children who are not accused of debauchery or rebelliousness. 7 For as God’s steward, an overseer must be free from accusation, not self-willed, not quick-tempered, not a drunkard, not violent, not greedy of dishonest gain, 8 but hospitable, a lover of goodness, sound in mind, righteous, loyal, self-controlled, 9 holding firmly to the faithful word as respects his art of teaching, so that he may be able both to encourage by the teaching that is wholesome and to reprove those who contradict.
