Why does prints taken by thermal printers fade away after few days?

    That's one of the issues with receipts from stores, they're usually printed using a thermal printer which is cheap to run but because they print the receipts on temperature-sensitive paper, the text can vanish after a while, especially if the receipt is left in light or heat.

    Should last longer than a few days though, unless you've exposed it to sunlight or heat.
