    No.

Typical office jobs follow regular business hours, like the standard 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Businesses and organizations that need to operate around the clock—or at least longer than the corporate eight-hour workday—rely on shift work to keep operations running smoothly.

Not really. A normal work shift is 8 hours. 5 3/4 hours is rather short.

  • No.  I've worked 16 hour and longer shifts several times.  Less than 6 hours is a cakewalk.  I haven't even gotten hungry enough for lunch at that point.

Kids these days.  Can't even do an 8-hour shift and complaining it's too long?

    The answer is IT'S RELATIVE.

If you're used to working (and possibly standing) for 6 hours, then a 5 hour and 45 minute shift is not long.

If you're not used to working, then it's long.

Either way, if you're very tired, it's very long.

    It's all relative.
