a) "He was one of the few people I've known who kept his charm and good looks THROUGHOUT his life."

b) "He was one of the few people I've known who kept his charm and good looks FOR HIS WHOLE/ENTIRE life."

    both are good. personally throughout is the better option

    b) is correct but sounds awkward, not natural
