Did you remember to lick your fingers after eating your meal?

It was narrated that Ibn Abbas said: “The Messenger of Allah said: ‘When one of you eats some food, let him not wipe his hand until he has licked it, or had it licked.’” (Sahih Muslim 5294)

Update:

It was narrated from Jabir that the Prophet enjoined licking one’s fingers and (wiping) the plate, and he said: “You do not know in which part the blessing is.” (Sahih Muslim 5300) Narrated Ibn Abbas: The Prophet said, “When you eat, do not wipe your hands till you have licked it, or had it licked by somebody else.” (Sahih al-Bukhari, Number 5456)

Anas ibn Maalik narrated that when the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) ate, he would lick his three fingers. Anas said: “And he said, ‘If any one of you drops a piece of food, let him remove any dirt from it and eat it, And He (meaning Allah) has commanded us to clean the plate, and said, ‘For you do not know where in your food the blessing is.’” (Narrated by Muslim, 2034). If a piece of food falls on the floor, then the person eating should remove any dirt that gets onto it and eat it, because he does not know where the blessing is in his food; it may be in the piece that fell, and leaving it makes a person miss out on the blessing of the food.
