Concave Mirror?

A man stands with the tip of his nose to 6 cm from a concave mirror to shave that has a radius of curvature of 33 cm. The distance of the image of his nose in the mirror is:

    do = 6 cm

    R = 33 cm

    f = R/2 = 33/2 cm

    1/f = 1/do + 1/di

    1/(33/2) = 1/6  +  1/di

    2/33 - 1/6 = 1/di

    (4 - 11)/66 = 1/di

    -7/66 = 1/di

    di = -66/7

    di ≈ -  9.4 cm

    The distance of image is at 9.4 cm from the mirror.

    Negative sign indicates it is a virtual image
