when your bleaching your hair does it turn brass then blond or blond then brassy?

Usually it goes brassy, but there are toners out there that can help prevent that. You can use a toner with in a day or two after bleaching your hair.

Brassy, then blonde.
For most people it is very difficult to get past the brassy stage, and it is very damaging to the hair too, so most people use a toner to help get rid of the brassy tones.

If your hair is brown it needs to process down through all the different color levels: you will be a brassy orange before it goes blonde. If you start with a dark blonde it might skip the brass stage if it's an ash blonde. It really depends on your hair's natural undertones. Warm tones frequently turn brassy. If you see brass you're supposed to let the bleach process a little longer until it gets to blonde. If you have no idea how bleach takes hair through the different color levels then maybe you should either get it done at a salon or do awhile lot of research about bleach through Google. It's easy to screw up and end up with dried out straw like hair or worse - chemical burns on the scalp.
