He relies, with justification, on people who are likely to vote Tory being gullible fools who won't check his claims. The DUP has always maintained his claim there would be no checks between Northern Ireland and Great Britain was false and they are the people who should know. Now the leaked HM Treasury document has confirmed he was lying. No wonder Johnson chickened out of the interview with Andrew Neil who would have exposed his lies and untrustworthiness.

Because he thinks he can get away with it because the electorate are stupid!

He's right about THAT at least!

For the same reason Trump does.  He knows that his supporters will buy it.  He loves the poorly educated  — according to his words.

Lying comes so naturally to him, he knows people wont bother to check, they trust him no matter how many times he is proven to be lying... it amazes me, yet he gets away with it time after time, then denies saying whatever and blusters and whiffle whaffles on...

    Q.  How can you tell if a politician is lying?

    A.  You can see his mouth move.
