Do You support the South Railway Strike?

South Western Railway (SWR) begin a 27-day strike generating delays for commuters. The SWR strike has been called by Rail, Maritime and Transport (RMT) Union because a long-running dispute over guards on trains broke down.

The union insists the strike is about passenger safety but the operator called the action "unnecessary".

I believe that all trains should have a guard or conductor aboard for reasons of safety, revenue protection and passenger assistance. However this strike is ridiculous as it seems to be centred on whether the driver or guard opens and closes the doors. It seems to me that the union the RMT has some sort of vendetta against First Group the operators of South Western Railway
