How to not get unwanted calls?

The only way to eliminate unwanted calls is to go to a whitelist where you enter everyone you are willing to get calls from.  By default, everyone else goes to voicemail.

It's a pain to obviously set up but it will screen out all telemarketers, political calls, scams, etc unless they just happen to have a phone number on your whitelist which is not likely.

We've done well with NoMoRobo, which screens calls and stops about 80% of the unwanted ones.

We're lucky we're able to just ignore the phone for the most part, unless we're either expecting a call or hear the ringtone of a person we'll pick up for.

Get a BT phone that monitors phone calls. Anyone not on your calls list who phones you for the first time has to give their name before the announced call goes through. You can then choose 1) To allow the call once, 2) to always allow that caller 3) to block that caller.

Spam/nuisance callers either get blocked or don't bother leaving their name so the phone doesn't ring.

This phone has been brilliant in stopping unwanted calls. I used to get at least 3 a day and blocking them didn't work as they kept changing their number. Now, those calls don't get through in the first place.

Unplug and or turn off your phones.

    Besides that, welcome to life.
