Wasn't Frank Sinatra overpaid as an actor ,not that good ?

You are paid what you are worth.
He brought in audiences and that made the film profitable.

In his early movies he brought a lot more to them than just the acting. He wrote in his own character or financed them, that's hard work. My favorite, although a latter one, and can never seem to find it, Von Ryan's Express - 1965. He was alright as an actor.

Time is eroding the memory of one of the country's greatest entertainer. He was a poor skinny guy from New Jersey who worked his butt off to become a great singer and great actor. He was the original teenie bopper fantasy before Elvis and the Beatles. Sinatra was multi talented, but also a huge womanizer and connected to the mob. Pretty full and colorful life. But yes, he was super talented. Don't ever doubt his talent.

He actually had amazing charisma on screen and his vocal stylings are still better than probably 90% better than almost any singer who came after him.
He is recognized as a competent actor, he did a couple of poor movies but his awards for The Man With The Golden Arm and From Here to Eternity were well earned.
Not overpaid - his musicals brought in big money for the studios.

Lots of actors are not that great. Arnie wasn't all that great. But after Terminator, he was an A list actor for years. Talent isn't the only criteria.

For someone " not that good" he sure won a lot of acting awards.

I think he most definitely was ..he never played an instrument ,made lifetime earnings of $ 90 million American dollars..was uglier than Elvis ,by all accounts a nice ,generous southern gent..his music would have been of little impact without excellent bands behind him, impeccable musical arrangenents..a "cult " that does not die..she was a " square " in the 60's
