How precious is agate geode gemstone?

It is highly variable because the quality and beauty is not something that applies to all. Also, as with any object being valued because of a perception of beauty, there is a subjective opinion, much like a work of art.  Some agate and geodes are fairly inexpensive because they are common and easily matched, and some are extraordinarily rare and unique, and thus very expensive.

This, for me, is a question of "what are you willing to pay to own the particular item?".  Fifty bucks for a decent-sized piece of average appearance (nice banding and colors), perhaps?  Is it rough or polished, is it dyed or undyed, does it have unusual features or is it just a run-of-the-mill specimen, is it large or small?
