Do washed clothes have to be dried immediately?

    In a word...NOPE. If you wait too long and keep them bunched up...there is a REMOTE problem with mold after a REALLY LONG TIME. If that happens...JUST WASH AGAIN.

    Yes, otherwise they start smelling damp and manky and need to go through the washer again.

    Due to the humidity left in the washer, at 70 degrees F, 21C, they will start to get grody within 24 hours.

    It is better if they are dried within a few hours at most.

    They can be hung up and allowed to dry which might take up to 24 hours - which is fine as long as it is hanging.

    But they shouldn't be left waded up in the washing machine for more than a few hours.  They will begin to smell because they might start developing mildew which gives of a bad odor and creates health risks.
