If someone sincerely apologizes to you, do you lose a little respect for them because they come off weak?

Of course not. Apologizing is not "being weak" it's accepting that you did wrong and you want to be better and maintain a relationship w the person you hurt.

It's absolutely not a sign of weakness in my eyes. I would gain so much more respect from someone who is sincerely apologetic. They must have thought you were a good enough friend to step forward to take time to think about how you might feel in needing that apologie

No, quite the opposite, it is when they fail to apologize that I see them as weak individuals. Sneakiness isn't cool, it's just lacking the balls to face the problem.
