A half inch is a light dusting.

1/2 inch is a light dusting, 1/2 foot would be a decent amount, and a half meter is a lot of snow.

1/2 of snow is half of full of snow...
Just imagine if there was 2/1 of snow...that would be crazy!

Depends on what you mean? Half an inch? Half a foot? Be more specific here.
In some places such as southern Florida or Los Angeles, half an inch of snow would set a record, many of those southern areas go decades without a trace of snowfalll. However, if you go to say British Columbia's north coast in Canada, half an inch or even half a foot of snow would be peanuts on the dollar, those places see feet a day, to put that into prespective.
All in all prespective is key.

1/2 inch is a light amount of snow
1/2 metre is quite a bit (20 inches), it's a lot (in a residential area)
But if you are a skier, you'd want a metre (40 inches) or more!
So it depends on your measurement, and on the inconvenience or desired amount.
