I have certainly read some extracts on here and on other sites, posted by young and inexperienced writers who gallop breathlessly from A to E without so much as a glance at B, C or D.
Remember, you, as the author, have a good grip on what happens, when, and why. But your readers don't. So you have to make it plain to them, and rushing past important plot points only makes it harder to read.

Yes. I feel like if a book is too short, there are important details that are being left out. It would take a skilled writer to be able to relay the feeling, a message, a point, and an unrushed ending leaving the reader feeling satisfied. Immediately what comes to mind for me is The Raven by edgar Allen Poe. It was so short but it had all the necessary details to leave the reader feeling complete.

Yes. Pacing is important. A story that is too fast skips over too many details, and often feels rushed.
