Can a diamond back terrapin live with a red eared slider?

I was thinking of converting my terrapin to fresh water and housing him with my slider. They are about the same size, but obviously different species, would they be okay together?

No. Diamondbacks are brackish-water species. Keep them in fresh water and they develop fungus diseases.

Another problem is that sliders are notoriously territorial and aggressive. Unless you have a REALLY big tank, your RES will attack the terrapin.

You can't convert it - it will die.
