    Having had nine husbands is not a good sign that she was Christian.

    Either she or her parents must have converted to Catholicism, because her parents were both of Jewish ancestry. But she was buried in a Catholic ceremony. But this can't be certain because some people will bury the dead in violation of the dead's beliefs, honoring their own beliefs. Mormons do this. Unlikely Catholics would do that, though. They are pretty strict about some things. So she may have been Catholic.
