What does gastrointestinal tract for a source of blood loss mean? ?

Hey guys, can someone please explain this term for me? (I’m not bleeding from rectum) i have low ferratin / iron. Does this mean internal bleeding?

It does mean internal bleeding and could be caused by a bleeding stomach ulcer, chronic aspirin/ibuprofen use or polyps in colon. It can also be sign of cancer. You will need further testing to pin down a source and get appropriate treatment.
