I had a sorta lump on my thigh.  It wasn't painful...?

I had it for at least 5 years.  It only bothered me if I forgot about it and ran my shaver over it and it would bleed.  Eventually after all those years, it became infected and swelled and looked bruised and was EXTREMELY painful to any kind of touch.  I was prescribed strong antibiotics because Amoxicillin wasn't doing anything.  I already had the Amoxicillin, the proscribing doctor was a friend.  It got way worse before it got better.  There were what looked like curds coming from where the cyst was.

Any way of knowing what kind of cyst it was?

Immediately go to an emergency room. They probably will have to do an emergency operation to remove infected pus. If you wait, the consequences could be terrible. It may be compartment syndrome or cellulitis.
