Are the 2000s and 2010s the same thing?

I MEAN BY CULTURE, NOT BY DATES.

    Definitely. The last 20 years are all one big decade.

    No. Even though part of the same century, they are both different decades. It's the same as the 1980s different from the 1990s from the previous century.

    The 2010s is part of the 2000s, and we won't be finished with the 2000s until 2999.

    The 2000s went from January 1, 2000, to December 31, 2009. The 2010s began on the first day of 2010 and will not terminate until this year (2019) ends. 

    EDIT: No, they're very different. In the 2000s, social media didn't really exist and we had Blockbuster and DVDs. In the 2010s, we now use streaming services plus Blockbuster is gone.
