Golden Shiner Fungal Infection?
I have approx 200 golden shiners living together in a 1300 gallon pool heated to 72 degrees the majority of them seem to be doing well but every morning for the past 3 weeks or so I find a couple of dead shiners floating on the surface. After taking them out I took a picture (shown below) where I observed what I think is some sort of fungal or bacterial infection that I cannot identify. It is important to note that I also have a couple of juvenile bluegills and a juvenile bass also in the pool along with 30 some odd goldfish feeder fish. However, Only the shiners and goldfish appear to be contracted this illness with the bass and bluegills remaining unaffected. Does anybody know what this disease is and how to treat it in a pool that large?
