Is it okay to use an old metal flagpole as a temporary ground? It's probably made of aluminum.?

I'm 99.9% sure it wouldn't be code, but if it is buried in the ground it would probably work.

Nope.   It    goes up  not into the  ground.

    • Apparently not far up enough to serve as a lightning rod to protect the house.

I can't think of a single instance that I would do that.

    • If the existing wiring in the house is code, then the electrical code needs to be updated.
