Can you match the equation in Column I with its equivalent equation in Column II (work needed)?

Update:

Column I:

11. 1/2x+5=1

12. -2(5-x)=9

13. 6x+15=3

Column II:

A. 2x+5=1

B. x+10=2

C. 2x-10=9

(Just in case if you can't see the picture very well)

    11 is B because x = -8 in both equations

    12 is C because x = 9.5 in both equations

    13 is A because x = -2 in both equations

How did you connect them in the first place? Obviously you compared solutions. Two equations are "equivalent" if their solutions are equal. Obvious.

If you want some higher wisdom or something

    11 multiply with 2

    12 expand yes

    13 divide with 3.

These happen to be the first commonly taken steps in solving each of these.

(If there was an even number on the right in 12, the more sensical approach would be to divide with -2 first)
