Instagram problem?

So I am from the United States, but whenever I go to type something in on my search bar, it’s all people of out the country. Why is this happening?

Instagram is International, ma'am.  YOU don't get to say which country people live in.

  No kidding? But my account ONLY shows people and things from out of the country. Not anyone from the U.S. All people from China.

  Stalk people, right. Because I’ve had my account for almost 7 years and everything switched over to international.
