Is there any beginner programming or coding book that doesn't start with Hello World as a first coding or programming exercise?

    Hello world is the defacto starting point in programming, if you cannot understand the absolute basic program you cannot program at all.

    It's been "hello world" in every technical book I've ever read.

    No not that I'm aware of

    No.  There had been one that started with Hi There but it was determined that it was confusing, so all copies were destroyed.
