How does BBT tell ovulation ?

When your temperature goes up and stays up (usually by a tenth of a degree for most people) you ovulated. You dont get advance notice with this method you are about to ovulate but after doing it for a few months you can see a pattern on when you usually ovulate.

Generally speaking, women have a dip just before ovulation and a spike after. It needs to be taken at the same time every day, and before you're up and moving around.

Your average basal body temperature (taken first thing every morning around the same time immediately after waking) rises a bit after ovulation, and stays above baseline until shortly before your period starts.
