Because Mao was exactly like Trump in some ways. For example, he knew absolutely nothing about science (like agriculture or statistics or engineering) and made up all sorts of idiotic rules like "plow narrow, plant deep" (which reduces, not increases, crop yields) and told people to make steel smelters (or whatever they're called) in their back yards.

Murder by the State is very common under Communism/socialism/liberalism/nazism.

Because he was a murderous tyrant who ruled for a long period.

Because he was a criminal dolt of little education who was kept in power by a mass movement which abandoned all rational thought and surrendered their intellects to follow him. He starved them.

The current political situation in the United States is curiously similar, it will eventually result in a catastrophic social disaster, which - as with the Chinese - will be conveniently wiped from public memory.

Those that questioned him were either executed, starved, or imprisoned until death. And yet, we, some of the people of the US think we are the worst ever.

About 79,000,000. Much more than Hitler and the Nazis.

Mao Zedong had in mind if he killed, every rat, bird, and insect in China it would lead to lesser diseases in China, he believed these were the main reasons for diseases in China.

    .

This disastrous plan lead to several famines through China. China had already a very large population so it would make sense that around 30-40 million would die.

None of that was state-planned or anything. Pure mismanagement.

  • Because Mao Zedong thought that you could force your will upon the natural world without consequence.
