Is it possible to become a child care provider or preschool teacher without spending a ton at college?
Even an associate degree from a community college is out of reach. It is thousands of dollars I don’t have. I would like to work for Head Start one day.
I am in Mississippi

Most childcare workers (such as at a daycare center) have only a high school degree. To become a preschool teacher (which pays more), you usually have to have an associate's degree. Head Start requires an associate's degree to become a teacher's assistant.

It will depend on the requirements of the particular places where you try to work. Many assistants/aides at daycares and some preschools have no college degree at all. You can't likely to be a "teacher" or "lead" at any of those places without some sort of degree.

depends on state licensing requirements. where are you?
