do older guys like poems?

see I like this guy very much he goes to my church. I want to know if any guy at an older age, is old enough to be given poetry. I heard from a friend of mine that poetry is meant for young teenagers and is considered  kid like for adults.

Your friend is an idiot. Nobody (except your idiot friend) considers poetry to be "kid-like," unless it's nursery rhymes. Have you ever read Keats's sonnets, or Milton's "Paradise Lost"? There's not one fcuking "kid-like" thing about them. Yes, of course adults like poetry. And it's not a male/female divide either.

I like the poems that start out like "There was a woman from Nantucket..."

Guys who like girls, do not like poems. They put up and pretend to like them, just because it makes the girl happy.
