Why is there so few proper open world detective video/pc games?

I can only think of 3 that imho fit the description, and 2 of these are retro!

LA Noire


@Emothic.....So why then is murder mystery whodunnit, such a popular choice for tv shows, and films?....many people will argue hat LA Noire is better than GTA, i don't because the driving mechanics are even more arcadey than GTA,  i wasn sim physics, but that's for another question, thx

    you can try and see if amazon has them, they have everything

    Because it's not a genre that it's in high demand by players. Yes some players want this, but not a whole lot. So there isn't that much money to be made for a developer and publisher to fund and create.
