Aleksa is a fairly common spelling (or translation into the Latin alphabet) of that name in some countries. I have no idea if she has Slavic heritage, or if she’s just being creative.

Because Alexa is an alternative spelling of Aleksa. And names are spelled differently in different places

If she is Polish, they don't have X in their alphabet.

Because names have varying spelling, particularly over varying cultures.

I like the spelling of that name. If she's foreign born, then this shouldn't be any shock that plenty of names are spelled differently in different places. Like Maksimilian
