Brooklyn nine-nine HELP?

When the vulture steals the venue from Jake and Amy and gets confronted about it at the dinner table. He says : «  she’s over 30, of course I didn’t marry her for money »

I think I know the answer but my OCD gets worse for not being able to quite pick up the punch line. Was he being ironic ? Did he make a mistake implying he’s into younger girls ? If he replaced the word « over 30 » to « under 40 » it would have made sense since it would take a while for him to inherit ( not to profiteer though) .

Or did he make a mistake thinking he was talking about sex.

Can somebody give me a thorough explanation of the whole thing ?

I think it's simple.  He was not being ironic; he isnot into younger girls; it didn't make sense; OCD isn't your only problem.
