It means it was late the 2nd month.

It means your period came in the middle of one month, and the end of the next month.

It means you probably do not have a typical 28 day cycle or it might mean that you just had a late period.  If you typically seem to jump all over the place with the dates of your period then you either have a longer cycle than most or you do have an irregular and completely unpredictable cycle.

You might have a 35 or even 40 day cycle.  There is nothing wrong with that and if you can count the days and find a pattern then it is also not "irregular".  It is just different than the typical average cycle of 28 days.

An "irregular" cycle can't be predicted.  If you can find a pattern and predict the number of days between one cycle to the next cycle - then you just have a longer cycle and not an "irregular" cycle.

Start tracking the number of days from day one of a period to day one of the next period.  If you can find a pattern or if the count is similar each time, it will give you a better idea of when to actually expect the next period.  Example:  If you have an average of 40 days between periods, and a period starts on 10/29 then your next period would happen on or near 12/8.  That would mean no period happened in November. But - you didn't really "miss" a period.  It just means your normal cycle pattern is longer than the average female and that you will have fewer periods per year than a woman who has a period averaging every 28 days.

It means you are having irregular periods.

If this is unusual for you, it's a good idea to talk to your doctor about what might be going on.

My wife has had irregular periods for a long time now.

No reason for it. Didn't stop us getting pregnant either.

Just one of those things. Frustrating for her until she went on contraception
