Actually, there isn’t much difference. Either way, you’re going to have to carry something around if you want to read it on the go. Either it’s your phone/computer/tablet, or it’s a textbook. Obviously, it’s going to be more convenience for you to carry around your phone over a textbook, but there could be some other disadvantages. One, battery. Two, you might need wifi depending on where you are, and third, it might be harder to take notes on what you want to focus on. Physical books, however, are bigger and heavier. Two, you can’t look up anything else you might need to know. There are also advantages for both as well. For electronic books, you can look up any problems that come up while you’re reading. Two, you can read it way more comfortable than with a massive textbook. For physical books: You can takes notes with just a pencil, and you can look up definitions just by looking at the glossary. Don’t mind any of the comments that give any of the “it’s a waste of paper” BS. The tree’s already dead before it’s made into paper, it’s not going to do you any good. Rather, it might be worse for the trees, if you don’t use the papers that they already died to make. So overall, which one’s better? That’s your choice.

You often can read over several devices,

Indie books tend to be much cheaper but have usually with higher profit to the author.

You may have the option to listen to audio book in car then continue to read the text at home if you licence both versions on service like Amazon Sync. With Amazon Sync the price licencing the ebook first is often less than only the Audible version.

You may have easier ways to search the book say you are looking for a quote or recipe.

Less physical storage space since you can download most books in Public Domain from Project Gutenberg no need to have many of them on your physical book shelf for free as long as other people keep donating to keep it running.

Disadvantages include you pay for books you licence rather than own and the company you paid can delete your books or discontinue support anytime like Sony Music did with their digital music and Microsoft did with there books.

There is debate over whether the servers and devices used for ebooks have more pollution then deadtree books
