Their influenced by their parents to want to do it. Both of Michael Jordan's were inspired by their father to become basketball players, by learning and observing through their fathers history. Some children become emotionally invested to follow in their parents footsteps through feeling a sense of accomplishment whenever they make their parents proud. The prefrontal cortex, located at the bottom of the frontal lobe, next to the temporal lobe causes this, because those two lobes in your front brain associates emotion along with many of its fantastic functions, and it cause people to want to do more of what they get positive results from.

They may have seen how much their parent(s) enjoy doing that work, they may have a natural talent for that work or they may just want to keep a family business going.

Others may have difficulty getting a job, so their parents let them join them in the family business.
