5.60 m length of 1.8 mm -diameter wire carries a 770 mA current when 18.0 mV is applied to its ends. The drift velocity is 1.3×10−5 m/s?
Find resistance of the wire
Determine the electric field inside the wire and number of free electrons per unit volume

Current (I) = 770mn = 770 x 10⁻³A
Voltage (v) = 18mv = 18 x 10⁻³volts
Resistance (R) = ?
Diameter of wire (D) = 1.8 x 10⁻³m
Length of wire (L) = 5.60m
We know that:-
Voltage (v) = current (I) x resistance (R)
Resistance (R) = voltage (v) / current (I) = 18 x 10⁻³ / 770 x 10⁻³
∴ Resistance (R) = 0.023Ω.Source(s): https://myrank.co.in/

R=E/I >>R=18/770 = .023377Ω
- NCSLv 78 months ago
resistance = potential / current
R = 18.0mV / 770mA = 0.0234 Ω
