question and statement about the fall of movie rental stores ?

i watched news and articles on why dvd rental stores went away in the past 10yrs and the usual suspect is " competition with netflix, on demand, streaming sites". and yes a very large sum of movies are available to rent buy or pay a subscription to watch on ur devices. BUT not everything period is. for instance cw's 90210 tv show is not available to buy or rent to watch on device vudu has 2 seasons of the 6. so that doesnt work only option is to buy the dvds. so if not everyone can get everything they want to watch how can people say its really been replaced ?

Libraries took up the collections - most libraries have HUGE movie collections on DVD now.

Because there are relatively few things you can't get through streaming and the movie rental places did go out of business.

You can have the same argument that video rental stores will not have everything available due to limited supply.

When a film or show is not available in a digital store, it is usually because of licensing issues.

For example, the 10 seasons of the original Beverly Hills 90210 is available on Hulu but not on Vudu. Meanwhile, all 5 seasons of the 90210 reboot is available on Vudu, but not on Amazon Prime.

It actually happened before streaming was so popular. Redbox put movie rental stores out of business because you could pay $1 per night (yes, it was originally $1) instead of $4-$5 for two nights.

Beverly Hills 90210 was on fox. All the spinoffs were on fox. There is no 90210 on the CW.

My head hurts from your illogical thinking.

Movie rental stores failed because there weren’t enough people keep it in business. Do you think that Blockbuster can stay in business by selling and renting 90210 DVDs.

so what your getting at is its gone cause of supply and demand but if some need the titles that arent online what do they do? just say SOL and move on ? the saying here is as long as them ajority of people are happy with the selection and people get by thats good enough and leave the 2% in the dark
