does a cop with radar get an accurate reading when he is facing from the side of my vehicle?

Bruce WAS correct about 20 years ago.
Modern radar equipment accurately accounts for what he mentions and shows accurate readings in ANY direction. It also accounts for the radar unit moving.

Radar is most accurate when the target vehicle is heading directly towards the radar unit. If the radar is off to the side, there is something called a "cosine shift" that will result in a lower reading. The shift is always in favor of the driver because the reading will be lower.
