What does Diffuse increased echogenicity of the liver suggestive of fibrofatty infiltration mean?

Is this simply fatty liver?

    Its a bit worse than just having a fatty liver.  It means you have a fatty liver and its causing fibrosis, which is similar to scar tissue build up.  Build up of scar tissue in the liver impairs blood flow through the liver and can eventually lead to cirrhosis if left untreated.  It typically takes a decade or two without treatment for a situation like this to become a serious problem, so you don't need to panic.
