Could there exist a coin that is less amount than a penny?

    There used to be a coin in British currency called a ha'penny (or "half penny").

      And half a ha'penny was a farthing.

    There used to be halfpennies so yes i mean it was withdrawn from circulation in December 1984 so there aren't any new ones

    In other countries, yes. The Mexican coins go very low.

    The US once had the half cent. 1857 was the last year they were struck.

    Great Britain also had the halfpenny, until 1984.

    There HAVE been.....the halfpenny 1/2 d, the farthing 1/4 d and the new halfpenny 1/2 p.

    All three have been discontinued.

    Yes, because at one time in the British currency there was 4 farthings = 1 penny
