Should I ask for an alternate assignment?

There is a project called the Youth Philanthropy Initiative, where students get into teams and choose a local charity to research and interview. They will present on their charity showing the interview video, and will compete. The winner gets to grant the charity $5000. The problem is, my group is having trouble finding a charity that meets the requirements that isn't taken by another group. When we find a charity, they never respond to our emails and calls. It is getting too late, and we may not have time to find another charity and see if we can interview them. Should I ask my teacher for an alternate assignment for my group?

ask your teacher to find you a charity that has not been taken and you have not contacted.

If your teacher will not or cannot then ask for an alternate assignment.
