I dabbed some hand sanitizer onto an infected pimple?

Was this a bad idea?

It will kill bacteria on the surface.  It will work better if you pop the pimple and work the sanitizer into it.  It is going to sting.

Hand sanitizer contains alcohol, which is drying. I don't think it's going to hurt your pimple

Yes. It was a stupid idea. Next time, you can use iodine.

Keep the area clean -- hand sanitizer isn't good enough, use  soap and water -- and apply antibacterial cream or ointment -- NOT hydrocortisone cream.

Yes, it works and keeps the area clean and disinfected.

Does hand sanitizer actually work for this? Login to comment; Edit ... Get some real acne treatment or a dove bar of soap. Login to comment ... That's actually a bad idea. I'm also struggling .... Dab dry, don't rub. Avoid touching ...

Yes because it will more than likely cause the pimple to be more irritated and make it burn. Rinse it in cold water and apply hydrocortisone cream to it or antibacterial cream.
