Is the Republic of Ireland considered an Isle of Great Britain?

Even though the Republic of Ireland is its own separate government?

It belongs to the geographical British Isles. How culturally British it is is open to debate. Most Irish would reject that it is, but that is mainly down to historical baggage.

Nope, but it is part of the geographical British isles with might not go down well with some in Ireland.

It is one of the British Isles. This is not a political term, it is a geographical description, it is the name given to the archipelago of somewhere over a thousand islands off the North West coast of Europe.

The Republic of Ireland is on the island of Ireland, which is one of the British Isles.  That isn't to say that it is subject to the country of Great Britain, though.  The British Isles are not islands owned by Great Britain but the proper name of a geographical fixture (islands) on the globe.

It's no different than the country called Mexico not being part of the country called America even though it's located on a geographical fixture (a continent) called North America.

It's no different than the country of Botswana not being part of the country called South Africa, even though Botswana is located in south Africa, the southern part of the geographical fixture (a continent) called Africa.
