Aren’t safe spaces for women and white only spaces based on the same discriminatory mentality?

    Yes.

“We need women only spaces to keep women safe from men, because men commit more crime than women”

“We need white only spaces to keep whites safe from blacks because blacks commit more crime than whites”

    Same argument, different demographics.

Yes, no... for the most part the rational behind the safe spaces is entirely sexist in nature (there are extremely caring men, as well as extremely abusive women)...

But the biggest difference is that the no one is harmed by the existence of these safe spaces. Instead of going to the woman's locker room to change, you need to go to the man's locker room. In stead of going to a woman's shelter, you need to go to a mans or unisex shelter.

Psychologically, while much of this is transference, feeling that if men are in the environment then those men are responsible in part for whatever happened to you... there is benefit to catering to limited sexism until the psyche has had time to heal.

It's the exact same mentality.  The only difference is in who thinks the discrimination is justified. That's how it always is with these things.   People justifying discrimination against others.

A man would go sleep in the ditch. Women and children come first.

    Get it? Women and CHILDREN!

No. They exist only when really needed for women. The racial part is backwards for need based.

but if a man were to try to enter such a space he would not be allowed, which is discrimination...

I don't think so. Safe places for women are for women who feel they are in danger, right or wrong. White spaces were due to hate, not fear.

Yes it is. because apparently us men are such barbaric savages. lol

No women are put through discrimination that cis white men do not go through and thus deserve a place to feel safe and not as though they are an object created for the purpose of men's sexual "needs". While white-only spaces are used to separate and discriminate other races.

Nah, there got to be equal opportunities for both sexes. All races and sexes should have the right to a safe place or no one gets one.
