We have employees that work in both WA and Idaho and live in both WA and Idaho. We are an Idaho based company.  ?

Are we required to list the hours worked in Idaho on the W2 for the employees that live in WA?  Washington does not have state tax but Idaho does.

    You don't list HOURS on a W-2.

You list TOTAL wages on the W-2 REGARDLESS of residence.

Based on this question YOU hire a professional to TEACH you how to to tax accounting, or hire on to do it for you.

If they earn money in Idaho they must pay tax in that state as well, so I would think the answer is YES!

Wages paid for work in Idaho will be shown on the state income part of form W-2. This number will be different from total wages shown in the federal section.

Believe you list the hours all together and let the taxpayer employee handle his own state filings.

Hours are never listed on a W-2.

Employees who live in Idaho are subject to Idaho state income tax.

Employees who live in Washington that work in Idaho are subject to Idaho state income tax.

Employees who live in Idaho but work in Washington are subject to Idaho state income tax.

Employees who live in Washington and work in Washington are not subject to Idaho state income tax.
