      I read Bimbos of the Death Sun years which was a formula mystery. This was different. But I'll give it a try.

    Some of the best murder mysteries I've ever read were by science fiction author Isaac Asimov.

    - The Caves of Steel

    - The Naked Sun

    Note that there are additional books in the "series" - but those were authored MUCH later (decades later) and in my opinion are not nearly as good as the first two.

    Me: big fan of whodunits, scifi, fantasy, etc.
