    This is the wrong place to ask this question. Cushing's Disease is a progressive endocrine disorder that is incurable. It frequently occurs in older horses. While it can be treated, and the horse kept comfortable for a while, eventually it will become severe enough that the horse will have to be destroyed.

    You should ask your vet how long the mare should go without medication, and what else he or she recommends that you do.
